About AutoIndex

Know what cars are truly worth.

A market intelligence platform built for the collector car world — because private buyers deserve the same quality of data that dealers and auction houses have always had.

Why we built this

The information gap is real.

If you want to buy a classic Ferrari or a clean air-cooled Porsche, you are negotiating against people who do this every day. Dealers know what the last three sold for. Auction specialists know which configurations command premiums and which don’t. You, as a private buyer, are working from asking prices, gut feel, and whatever you can find on a forum.

AutoIndex exists to close that gap. We track advertised and achieved prices across the collector car market — by make, model, generation, and configuration — and surface that data in a way that’s genuinely useful when you’re standing in front of a car with a chequebook.

The data

What it is — and what it isn’t yet.

AutoIndex currently tracks over 1,000 collector car models across every major segment — supercars, grand tourers, classics, sports cars, performance saloons, and SUVs. Pricing is modelled from segment benchmarks, published auction results, and advertised market data, and updated regularly.

We are transparent about what the data is during this stage: it is a market model, not a live transaction feed. Every price you see on AutoIndex is labelled as indicative, and we never obscure that distinction. As our dataset grows — through auction integrations, dealer partnerships, and private sale records — the model will increasingly give way to verified transaction data.

The direction is toward the kind of granularity that lets you look up what a specific configuration — say, a Guards Red 993 RS in Clubsport specification — has genuinely achieved at auction over the last 36 months. We’re not there yet. We’re building toward it.

The product

Built for collectors, not institutions.

AutoIndex is free to use as a research tool. You can explore the full catalogue, track segment performance, browse auction results, and compare models without creating an account. A free profile unlocks a personal watchlist, price history on every model, and portfolio tracking so you can log the cars you own and monitor their value over time.

For those who want to go deeper, AutoIndex Editions are long-form collector references written from the perspective of the market. Not appreciations — working documents that cover production data, ownership economics, configuration premiums, and the investment case for every model line in dossier depth. Ten volumes are available for pre-order now, covering Ferrari, Porsche, Jaguar, BMW, Lamborghini, Aston Martin, and Alfa Romeo.
